Spiced Cornmeal Waffles

Topped off perfectly with a combination of butter, The Old Mill Cinnamon Maple Syrup and chopped candied pecans, this recipe is sure to not only hit all your senses but your taste buds too. Spiced Cornmeal Waffles
Ingredients
- 2 cups The Old Mill Buttermilk Pancake Mix
- ½ cup The Old Mill 1830 Grind Unbolted White Cornmeal
- 2 teaspoons Apple Pie Spice
- 1 ½ cups milk
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Topping
- Butter, for serving
- The Old Mill Cinnamon Maple Syrup, for serving
- Chopped candied pecans, optional, for serving
Instructions
- Heat a waffle iron.
- Whisk together pancake mix, cornmeal, apple pie spice, milk, egg, and oil in a bowl just until combined.
- Pour about ¾ cup batter into waffle iron if using a Belgian waffle iron or about 1/3 cup batter if using a regular waffle iron; cook until steaming stops, about 2 minutes.
- Repeat with remaining batter.
- Serve waffles with butter, cinnamon maple syrup, and nuts, if desired.
